How it works

The Million Metre Challenge is back! From 4pm on 19th March to 4pm on 20th March, we will take to our rowing machines and attempt to beat last year’s total of 1.2 million metres. We will be doing so in aid of The British Heart Foundation..

The Million Metre Challenge

The challenge lasts for 24 hours. There will be four rowing machines available for reservations in 30 minute and 1 hour blocks. Just click here and select the time slot(s) you would like to reserve. Coordinate with your colleagues to form a team and row at the same time – particularly at night!

After your rowing slot the distance (metres) you have rowed on the rowing machine will be added to the challenge total. A leaderboard will be updated in real-time and available via the homepage throughout the challenge.

The equipment you will be using will be a Hydrow Pro Rower which offers a premium rowing experience.

Built with a sturdy frame it has a comfortable and adjustable seat, screen that shows and tracks your growing distance and speed, plus stunning visuals to keep you entertained.
